Install cycle tracks, bike lanes, or on-street cycling

Description: Install cycle-tracks, bicycle lanes, or on-street cycling. In the context of this analysis, cycle-tracks are defined as bi-directional, and are separated from motor vehicle traffic by parallel parked cars, concrete curbs, or painted lines with delimiting posts. Bicycle lanes are defined as unidirectional and are not separated from traffic by a physical barrier.

Prior Condition:  Roadways without cycle facilities. This treatment involves the installation of a physically-separated, bidirectional cycle track with parking between the cycle track and traffic.

Comments:This treatment involves the installation of a physically-separated, bidirectional cycle track with parking between the cycle track and traffic. The CMF reported applies to both intersection and segment crashes and is the minimum CMF (greatest expected reduction) with respect to all potential combinations of the control group. The maximum CMF with respect to all potential combinations of the control group (including single-site control groups) is 0.47.The average annual daily bicycle volume is 3440 on the treatment segments.
